Our Story.

I am a wife, a mother, appreciater of small things in life, 3/4 latte drinker, nature lover, but, most of all Yogini.

Yoga for me expands well beyond the Yoga mat, and embodies my every day thinking. Yoga practice and Yoga’s philosophy bestows on us a deeper understanding of the world, and of our selves, and brings a sense of clarity to our mind psyche.

It is this magic that I wish to share with you.

I wish for you to experience a touch of peace and stillness amongst our jam-packed, fast-paced lives.

I wish for you to find some space in your mind to feel that you are rising about the turbulence of your thoughts, not drowning in them.

I wish for you feel the beauty of being present!

Aside from all of this, you will certainly gain strength, flexibility, and a more revitalised body and energy! A wonderful side effect.

Yoga has the power, if practiced regularly, to help prevent disease and re-balance your central nervous system and endocrine (hormonal) system.

My classes are Hatha style, incorporating asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and Yoga Nidra (relaxation) or dhyana (meditation). I aim to incorporate a certain degree of strength, stretch and reflection within each class, the proportion of which changes from week to week.

Whilst I will be guiding you through the limbs of Hatha Yoga in my classes, it is Raja Yoga (the final limbs incorporating meditation) that form my spiritual path throughout my life. I am an abyasi (practitioner) of Sahaj Marg Raja Yoga through IUSCM (the Institute of Universal Self-consciousness Movement). I am therefore under the protective wings of my Guru (teacher), who lives for the spiritual uplift of humanity, and guides me in my personal advancement and understanding.

I have been so blessed throughout my 15 years of exploring Yoga with exceptional teachers, who have each guided me, challenged me, and helped me to understand more about the infinite pool of Yoga. I undertook my training to be a teacher through the wonderful Swami Sarasvati’s school of Yoga in Sydney. I have since gone on to explore pre- and post-natal Yoga in the Yoga of Birth training with Katie Rose.

I truly believe that Yoga will aid in every aspect of life, and bring increased depth and meaning to one’s journey. It doesn’t matter if you can’t touch your toes or think your mind is too busy! Yoga is a practice – if you can already do a handstand, bend into a pretzel, and automatically make your mind still, then you probably don’t need Yoga! Yoga is a tool to help us overcome our challenges and alter our responses or reactions to the world around us. Give it a try!
